The Porch Fort Worth-September 2!!

The Porch

The Porch is coming to Fort Worth!

You may have heard months ago about some distant-future launch of The Porch at Watermark’s Fort Worth campus, and wondered about the what/when/why of that plan. Or perhaps this is the first time you’ve heard anything about it at all. Either way, we’re excited to let you know that the beginning of The Porch in Fort Worth is now not-so-distant, and the details are here for you to have and share!

What is The Porch Fort Worth?

The Porch has always been not only a gathering, but a movement of young adults—a mission. Fort Worth young adults will therefore gather and move together for the same reasons that they do in Dallas: to connect with others, connect with God, and learn to live out more of what He desires for singles in our culture. The Porch in Fort Worth will provide the same opportunity for young adults (20s/30s) in Tarrant County and the surrounding area as it does in Dallas—to come just as they are, but not leave unchanged.

When and where is The Porch Fort Worth meeting?

The Porch Fort Worth will begin on Tuesday, September 2nd at 7:30 pm at the Ridglea Theater Complex (3345 Winthrop Avenue, Fort Worth, 76116) and will continue every Tuesday night at the same time.

There is presently no plan for either Dallas or Fort Worth to meet on a Tuesday when the other does not; every Tuesday that The Porch gathers in Dallas, we will gather in Fort Worth!

Why are we launching a new Porch?

Well, it’s not really “new,” and it’s not really “another” Porch. This is true because the very same work that began to influence Dallas through The Porch nine years ago has now spanned many miles and countries, and has struck Fort Worth strongly along the way. For well over a year, several small pockets of young adults from Fort Worth have crossed the metroplex on Tuesday nights to gather in Dallas, many of whom are now volunteer leaders on the Porch team in Fort Worth. In coming to Fort Worth, we’ve not added a second Tuesday-night Porch; we’ve added a new section of seats to the existing one—50 miles to the west.

In short, we’ve chosen to begin The Porch in Fort Worth because:

1) There is a strong, consistent desire for it among young adults in the city;

2) There is a trusted group of volunteer servant-leaders who have demonstrated their willingness and ability to carry the weight of the ministry; and

3) Most of all, because God desires to reconcile young adults in Fort Worth to Himself in loving relationship, and we humbly hope that He would use our efforts to do so.

What can I do to help?

Three things! First and foremost, you can pray that God would be the enabler and accomplisher of The Porch’s ministry in Fort Worth. The Scriptures say that “unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain” (Psalm 127:1). May we never labor in vain in Fort Worth or Dallas!

Secondly, you can share this news with any young adult you know from Weatherford to east Arlington. Mid-cities Porch-goers are of course welcome at whichever gathering serves them best (although in the interest of building meaningful relationships and being known and loved by others, we would encourage you to be consistent at whichever location makes the most sense for you).

Thirdly, you can let us hear from you. You can reach us at all of the below outlets, and we’d love to get to know you!

Lastly, on behalf of the entire faithful and passionate Porch Fort Worth team, I’d like to extend a very warm, very personal, and very old invitation to you (John 1:46) about the Christ who has saved and changed each one of us so lovingly and consistently…

“Come and see!”
