Act III
“The Light”
Have you ever been disappointed when something you were so hopeful for falls short of your expectations? Believe it or not, some disciples of Jesus felt this way after His death despite His promises of triumphant return (Matthew 16:2).
They saw miracle after miracle, and yet when the plan unfolded exactly as it had been spelled out for them, the disciples scattered and lost heart (Mark 14:50).
On the third day, while the stone had been rolled away from the empty tomb, Jesus’ closest friends had quickly forgotten His teaching and stood confused. It was then they were met by angels who asked them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.” (Luke 24:5)
And while we, like the disciples, are quick to forget God’s faithfulness in the face of suffering, Jesus’ resurrection is the ultimate reminder that God’s Word never comes back void. (Isaiah 55:11) We have been made witnesses of God’s power, recipients of His grace, and testaments of His goodness.
The light has come, and Christ did not come simply to be born — He came to awaken a sleeping world. He came to give life and life to the fullest.
“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your King is coming to you.” (Zechariah 9:9)
It’s time to rejoice, for we were once dead, and now we are alive. We were once lost, and now we are found. While we were unworthy to tie His sandals (John 1:27), we’ve been made co-heirs with Christ to the inheritance of God’s great Kingdom (Romans 8:17). This is not just a promise for eternity, but also for today.
The Savior lives.
The Light has come.
_Joy to the world. _
