At The Porch, our mission is to call Dallas young adults to the truth of the gospel and to equip and encourage them to fully follow Christ with their lives.
Our goal online is the same, except it is not limited by the “Dallas” part. Sure, we want to be an ongoing, 24/7 resource for the community of folks who gather at The Porch each Tuesday night. But about half our online visitors come from outside the DFW area: from Houston, New York, San Francisco, London, Sydney, Singapore, and thousands of other places across the country and around the world. Most of these people will never come to The Porch, and some may never set foot in a church, but they still come here for a variety of reasons and can still be equipped and encouraged wherever they are.
And you can help.
If you have been wired for writing and have a passion for ministering to young adults, we would love to have you to join our mission by writing a guest post or two. There are a few ways in which you can do so:
Sharing your testimony. Stories of life change are a powerful way to share the share the gospel and show people with similar backgrounds that there is hope.
Teaching about community. God calls believers to live life together in community. We want to do what we can to provide resources for community groups, especially for people who may not have such resources at their local church.
Guest blogs. If you have something helpful and relevant to say to the twenty- and thirty-something crowd, here is a place you can say it. The purpose is the same as the messages you would hear from the stage at The Porch; if you can’t envision something similar being said in a Porch sermon, it is probably not a fit for this blog.
If you have an idea that fits in one of the above, please let us know. To avoid spending time writing something that may not fit or that may be too similar to a post that someone else is working on, it is best to submit the idea first so we can discuss whether it would make sense and where it would fit on the calendar.
Contact us at theporch@watermark.org to learn more, or submit your idea (and your email address) through the comment form below. (Comments will not appear publicly, but we will see them and will then get back in touch with you.)
Thanks!
